Weston's signature swallowtail, designed for deep-snow conditions but built to hold its own well beyond just powder days. The Good Ride's extended demo review called it a pleasure to ride in powder and to carve on groomers, explicitly noting it is not a trendy short/wide gimmick board and shouldn't be bought purely for pow. OutdoorGearLab's independent review found the Japow delivered one of the best deep-snow performances of any board they tested, crediting the taper and setback inserts for effortless flotation, while noting the board fared surprisingly well carving firm, icy groomers too thanks to a bamboo-and-poplar core reinforced with carbon stringers.
