Nidecker
An asymmetric true twin -- symmetrical nose to tail but with a tighter sidecut radius on the heel edge than the toe edge to balance the extra force heelside turns typically require, in both regular and switch stances. The APX version adds a faster N-9000 base, dual carbon stringers, and Nidecker's Nidactive APX edge technology, which places the core directly over the edge for more responsive power transfer. The Good Ride found the Gamma APX noticeably stiffer than the standard Gamma (rating it close to 7/10 versus 4/10), with strong pop and confident carving for a twin, though not particularly forgiving for pressing or butters. Board of the World's review agreed, calling it a reactive all-mountain freestyle board best suited to experienced riders hitting large park jumps, and Snowboarding Profiles' side-by-side test of both Gamma versions found the APX gave slightly less forgiving but more stable landings on tail-heavy tricks.
